For many years now, Mareena Purslowe & Associates have been supporting the Lions Recycle for Sight programme, with over 35,000 eye-glasses collected Australia-wide.
Donation boxes at each of the Mareena Purslowe funeral homes, as well as those they take out into the community, act as collection points for eye-glasses that are no longer needed. The simple act of donating a pair of eye-glasses that are no longer needed can make the world of difference to someone in the developing world.
Donated glasses are sent to the Lions Recycle for Sight headquarters in Queensland where they are sorted by prescription, mended if required and then prepared for sending to communities in the developing world.
The eye-glasses make the world of difference to the recipient's quality of life. Often, those in the developing world are unable to access, or to afford corrective eye-glasses.
Why not search for that old pair of eye-glasses and donate them today? Prepscription sunglasses are also welcome.
