Annual memorial services

At Mareena Purslowe & Associates we offer an annual series of moving and memorable memorial services as part of the care we provide to families after the funeral service is over.

Losing someone you love can affect you very significantly at different times of the year. Days like Mother's Day, and times of the year such as Christmas can be difficult to deal with when you are missing someone who made those times of the year so special and enjoyable.

At these times we invite the families we serve to attend a special memorial service to honour those we are missing so much.

The services are reflective, but also celebratory. Those who attend are invited to participate through the lighting of candles, or by bringing along a photograph of their loved one, as well as in other ways, such as by putting a special Christmas message onto our tree. These touches provide a meaningful way for families to express the feelings they have for their treasured family member.

These services also provide an opportunity for people to share their experiences with others who are also missing a loved one's familiar presence.

In our society it is not always easy to find times and places where it is acceptable to express grief, but these services address this.
