Memorials to help with grief
Online memorials
Mareena Purslowe & Associates will soon be offering the families that choose us a free, online memorial with www.heavenaddress.com. We will update this page with information on when this service will be offered.
An online memorial through www.heavenaddress.com will allow you to send messages of support and condolence to the families and friends of those who are no longer with us. It also allows you to share treasured memories, including photos, music and video content, so that each page builds up into a library of tributes and shared memories that can be visited 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Physical memorials
Physical or permanent memorials in a cemetery or memorial garden have an important role to play in dealing with greif.
A permanent memorial can provide solace by providing a place that those in grief can visit and be with their thoughts and feelings for the person they are missing. It can be very helpful to have a place where you give yourself permission to express feelings of loss and sadness.
A permanent memorial also provides continuity with future generations and extended family.
Especially when a loved one has been cremated, sometimes ashes are scattered at a family home - which can be resold - or scattered at a favourite place - which can be rezoned or developed into something else - a memorial can provide evidence of a family's connection to an area and a place for future generations to come and pay their respects to those that came before them.
